Your privacy matters. Free WebP to PNG converts images locally in your browser — we do not upload your files to our servers. Below are our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Privacy Policy

1) What data we collect

We collect non-identifying usage data via analytics (pages viewed, device/OS/browser family, referrers, coarse geography in aggregate). We do not collect the contents of your images or your filenames during conversion.

2) How conversion works (local processing)

When you choose a .webp file, your browser reads and renders it to an HTML canvas. The resulting PNG/JPG is generated locally and offered for download. The image is not transmitted to our servers for conversion.

Technical note: the app may create in-memory blob: URLs for preview/download; these live only during your session.

3) Cookies & local storage

• Functional: The converter avoids persistent storage of your files.
• Analytics: Google Analytics (GA4) may set cookies to provide aggregated stats.

4) Analytics

We use Google Analytics (property G-PDBBNJG5S2) to measure anonymous traffic and improve UX. IP anonymization is enabled where supported. We review aggregated reports only and do not attempt to identify users. You can block analytics via browser settings or content blockers.

5) Server logs

Our hosting may record standard web logs (page paths, timestamps, user-agent). These do not include your images and are used for security and performance.

6) Data retention

• Images: Not uploaded; not retained.
• Analytics: Retained per Google Analytics standard policies.
• Communications: If you contact us (email/WhatsApp), we retain your message to respond and keep reasonable records.

7) Children’s privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8) Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. Limited data may be shared with service providers (analytics, hosting) strictly to operate and improve the site, under appropriate safeguards.

9) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures. Because conversion occurs locally, the primary risk surface is your device/browser. Keep your browser updated and avoid untrusted extensions when working with sensitive images.

10) Your rights & choices

• Block or delete analytics cookies in your browser.
• Use private browsing modes if preferred.
• Contact us to access or delete communications you’ve sent us.

11) International data transfers

Providers may process data in multiple countries. We implement reasonable safeguards for such transfers.

12) Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date” above.

Terms of Use

1) Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Free WebP to PNG (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2) License & permitted use

• We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for lawful image conversion.
• You are responsible for the content you process and for complying with all applicable laws and rights (including copyright).

3) Acceptable use

• No use of the Service to infringe intellectual property or privacy rights.
• No uploading of unlawful, harmful, or malicious content; no attempts to reverse engineer or disrupt the Service.
• No automated scraping or rate abuse that degrades availability.

4) Ownership

The Service (including design, code, and branding) is owned by or licensed to the operator. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

5) Availability & changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We are not responsible for any loss arising from downtime or changes.

6) Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

7) Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

8) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service or breach of these Terms.

9) Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts located in Hungary shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

10) Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the “Effective date”.
